The counter top is cast in one piece. No seams between sink and worktop where dirt can get in.
The water tap is placed on a “pedestal” so that no water remains behind the tap (a spot that is difficult to reach).
The washing-up drains ensure that wet cups do not stick to the worktop and that the washing-up water runs into the sink (the IKEA Rinnig plate drainer fits in the drains).
